2019 Fall

Elementary students around the District have been busy welcoming in the new season using fall objects for learning activities. Kunkel Kindergartners went on a leaf hunt to explore the differences in the shapes and colors of leaves. They also did apple tasting experiments to learn how to use graphing to display their results. Down the hall, Kunkel 3rd graders completed a STEM activity by designing rafts made from apple pieces. Students learned about buoyancy, balance, and drift. The rafts were put to the test in a kiddie pool and many were successful! At Fink, Kindergartners have been learning all about bats in Science class so they made paper bag bat puppets to fly around their classroom! Over at Reid Elementary, kindergartners celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday by making their own kettle hats and coring and peeling apples and 1st graders used marshmallows to paint apples on trees. The Special Education classes have completed various fall crafts such as painting pumpkins, creating skeletons with Q-tips, and making pumpkin wind socks.

And all throughout the elementary hallways, fall artwork is on display to celebrate the season. Welcome, Fall! We are so glad you are finally here!
