PowerSchool and SchoolMessenger
PowerSchool and SchoolMessenger
MASD’s PowerSchool Parent Portal is the one-stop shop for family-school connection and communication. Parents/guardians can view student grades, track attendance, complete permission forms, and much more. The PowerSchool Parent Portal also allows you to make real-time changes to your student’s information at any time throughout the year. SchoolMessenger is the District's communication system, which sends notifications to parents/guardians via phone, text, and email regarding district announcements, emergency messages, and weather-related closings and delays.
The PowerSchool Parent Portal can be accessed through the
District homepage
or the
For Parents
page of the District website.
Each school year, parents/guardians must complete the student verification process by updating student forms in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
This process must be done for each student enrolled in the District. The student verification process for the current school year can be completed on a computer or through the PowerSchool app.
New for the 2025-26 School Year
Form A-07 Food Services: This form notifies our food services department about student food sensitivity or allergies. Please explain how your student reacts to the foods listed. This information will be placed in the cafeteria system and will alert to food restrictions.
Update for the 2025-26 School Year
Form R1 Student Information Update: Please list all students under the age of 19 (regardless of whether they attend MASD or not) living in your home. Please also review and make any updates to your student's existing parent/guardian and emergency contact information and ensure that all phone numbers are correct and up to date. You may also add new parent/guardian or emergency contacts.
Directions to Complete the Student Verification Process
Computer Instructions
Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Under “Navigation” on the left side, click on “Forms,” and then the “Enrollment” tab. You can update information in SchoolMessenger while in your PowerSchool Parent Portal account by clicking on the “SchoolMessenger” tab under “Navigation,” then clicking the three lines in the blue bar, and selecting “Preferences.”
App Instructions
Once on the PowerSchool app, click “More” at the bottom of the screen, click on “Forms,” and then select “Enrollment.”
Student Forms
For form R2, Student Change of Address, and form R4, Health Information and Update and Medical Authorizations, you may be asked to submit documents.
Documents can be attached electronically or emailed to
[email protected]
. Hard copies can be faxed to the District (717-948-3329, Attention: Registration) or placed in the District Administration Building drop box, located to the left of the building’s main entrance at 55 W. Water Street.
Please be sure to hit “Submit” after completing all forms, even if there have been no changes from previous years. If a form says “pending,” it is awaiting approval from the District. Please do not repeatedly submit this form.
After you have completed the final form, click on “Forms” to review your submissions.
Any form without a green leaf needs
further attention or is pending District approval.
SchoolMessenger
Once in SchoolMessenger, verify each preference and add additional information contacts if necessary. You may enter up to two numbers and two emails for each student. It’s recommended that you select all options for every number and email. If not, you won't receive all District notifications (i.e., if you only select “text,” you won’t receive messages sent by email). Remember to click “Save” after each entry.
Note - at this time, updates to SchoolMessenger can only be done on a computer.
